Since its inception, the firm has handled complex divorce and custody matters at both the trial and appellate level. The firm has handled multi-million dollar divorce trials and settlements, negotiated and litigated pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, and handled highly contentious custody cases, including the termination of parental rights. Through this experience, we are able to resolve any divorce issue as efficiently as possible, including complex business assets and the use of expert witnesses in custody and business valuation cases.

Because of our collaborative and holistic approach, our firm believes we can get divorce settlements at a lower cost for the client than other firms. We use our extensive experience in family court to guide each client successfully through the pit falls of divorce by keeping real life issues in the forefront.

Mr. Marks is certified by the State Bar of Nevada in Family Law and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, which requires a national examination in order to be admitted. Mr. Marks frequently lectures on family law matters before the State Bar of Nevada and other private organizations.

We believe in resolving all disputes as efficiently as possible and will do everything possible to resolve each case without having to go to trial. Our trial and appellate experience means a client will benefit from making an informed decision regarding trial or settlement. Some cases, however, must go to trial, and we are committed to ensuring that our clients are  prepared and zealously represented at trial.

We recognize that divorce and custody issues are emotional, so we utilize a wide-range of professionals, as needed, to help a client through the process. Our philosophy in handling a divorce or custody dispute is not to waste client time and/or money. We have the ability to identify family law issues and move quickly to resolve each case, whether through settlement or trial.

Mr. Marks has been on the cutting-edge of issues regarding the division of community property, division of pensions and other assets, cohabitation issues, as well as custody and visitation issues. This experience recently resulted in the firm’s victory in Kogod v. Kogod, 135 Nev. Adv. Op. No. 9 (2019)

As a former Supreme Court settlement judge, Mr. Marks understands the value of settlement, but as a trial and appellate attorney he can aggressively pursue a client’s rights through the legal process, if necessary, to achieve the best result.
